Physical Literacy for Children (PLC) is a non profit organisation in South Africa, which is focused on making a difference by addressing the following concerns:
- 70% of primary school children do not achieve the minimum requirement of one hour of physical activity per day for a healthy lifestyle, as per the World Health Organisation.
- For the first time in history, there are more children in the world who are OBESE rather than MALNOURISHED.
Bridging the Physical Education gap in South Africa.
Awakening children’s potential through physical education.
The Kids Gym has collaborated with Physical Literacy for Children (PLC) with the objective to fill this educational gap, specifically identified for poor and needy children, by providing physical literacy programs using our curriculum and facilities. We want to encourage children from all walks of life to become active and embrace a healthy lifestyle and inspire them to exercise.
We currently have around 150 kids in the programme and there are SO many more that we would LOVE to have in our programme – but we need your help! Currently only 25 children are sponsored. For as little as R240 or $20 you can sponsor a child on our programme for a month .
